Mariano nailed down his 8th save of the season as the Yanks beat the Royals by the count of 5 to 2.

After the Yanks rallied from down 4 in the bottom of the 8th to take a 2 run lead, Mariano pitched a scoreless ninth to preserve the victory and earn his 6th save.

Mariano pitched 3 scoreless over these two games. Unfortunately, the Yankees lost both contests.

Mo pitched the ninth for his 2nd save in as many days (and his 2nd of the season).

Mariano got his first save of the season. He allowed 1 run in the ninth, but intentionally walked a runner to load the bases with 1 out and induced a ground ball that was turned into a double play (A-Rod touched third, threw to first) to end the game.
