06/23: New Rochelle City Council Approves Mariano Rivera's Bid to Build Church and Community Center

Mariano Rivera's plans to buy a distressed piece of property and turn it into a church and community center have received a boost, as New Rochelle City Council voted 5-2, in favor of selling him the property.

Ned P. Rauch of Lohud.com has the story. They will now need to come to terms on an agreement. City manager Charles Strome III, who recommended selling the property to Rivera hopes for that to happen soon.
